New Moon in Cancer: New Nostalgia.

Hi, Everyone,

It is the middle of summer. Yet, in this year of Capricorn, time is relative. It could be April, and it could be September. The virus has hemmed us in a time when we want to expand and get beyond the pain. We are marking time because the progression of life as know it as ceased to exist; yet, time continues.

We now have to find new ways to relate to time, and how to use it. Saturn, which rules the sign of Capricorn rules structures, rules, time, karma, and responsibility. Structures and time have become relative. Some structures collapse, and some need serious repair. The change is permanent. Saturn and Pluto met up at the world axis on January 12, 2020 when they met up at 22 degrees of the Cardinal Earth sign of Capricorn: the world was permanently changed.

We are now getting out of Eclipse season, and this has invoked much more change, beginnings, endings, and departures. Usually, there are two eclipses every six months. This summer there were three: A Lunar Eclipse at 15 degrees of Sagittarius on June 5th; A Total Solar Eclipse at 0 degrees of Cancer on June 21st; a partial Lunar Eclipse at 13 degrees of Capricorn on July 5th. Three eclipses on top of an unforgettable year has been extremely intense!

We feel the buildup of eclipses two weeks beforehand, and we feel the release of the Eclipses two weeks afterwards. We experienced the final Eclipse in Cancer and the final Eclipse in Capricorn.

Capricorn has been the headliner since the beginning of the year with The Saturn/Pluto conjunction at the world axis in Capricorn that had not occurred in the sign of Capricorn for over five hundred years. We will never see this much Capricorn again in our lifetime.

The two traditional malefics met up at the world axis, and Jupiter in Capricorn expanded the narrative; the south node of Karma brought much loss to old traditional paradigms. Jupiter entered Capricorn on December 2, 2019 and expanded the Capricorn story of collapsing of old structures. The three recent eclipses underscored the karmic lessons we need to learn, the structures with which we can work, and those that we which must purge in our lives. Mass death, rebirth, and metamorphosis. Permanent change.

On July 20, 2020, there is a VERY powerful New Moon that occurs at 1:33 pm EDT at 28 degrees of the Cardinal Water sign of Cancer. This is the second New Moon in Cancer, as the Total Solar Eclipse that occurred on the Solstice weekend on June 21st was at 0 degrees of Cancer. The moon rules the sign of Cancer; therefore, the moon is in its rulership. In spite of the Capricorn restrictions, do not give up on your dreams. This is an excellent time for manifesting — particularly when the moon is in the sign which it rules.

The New Moon is always an excellent time to set intentions. This New Moon officially marks the end of Eclipse season. In the past few weeks, there have been departures of loved ones, jobs, and moves.

Mercury stationed retrograde on June 18th at 14 degrees of Cancer and stationed direct on July 12th at 5 degrees of Cancer. This set off last year’s partial Solar Eclipse in Capricorn and brought more stories from the end of last year.

This New Moon is also a tricky one, which is not surprising with the year we have had. I cast the chart for Washington D.C., and the chart has Libra rising with the New Moon in Cancer falling in the ninth house of hope, belief systems, optimism, higher learning, and teaching.

The Capricorn lineup falls in the third house of thoughts and ideas. The new moon is a time of new beginnings, but it forms an acute opposition to Saturn, the planet of limits, challenges, and endings. This could be a turning point with something you began on the New moon Eclipse. Unfortunately, it is likely that this new moon will bring endings for some with that exact opposition to the New Moon.

Use this as the anchor to structure your goals and set new intentions. The new moon falls in the house of faith. Jupiter, the planet of good fortune, forms a helpful aspect to Neptune, the planet of dreams. This is a very manifesting energy. In this cardinal year that requires each and every one of us to be strong and have character, do NOT give up on your dreams.

Use this manifesting energy to tap into creativity, love, and believe that it is true.

The Capricorn lineup is in the third house of thinking. Restructure your thoughts. Do not become embittered by the restrictions. Use them to propel you forward. Jupiter and Neptune will form an exact sextile on July 27th, 2020, but the energy is still very helpful.

This past week, the transiting sun in Cancer has set off Jupiter and Pluto in Cancer, and this brought more information as to what this life altering Saturn/Pluto conjunction started in the very beginning of 2020. Eclipses bring things to light, and the past eight weeks has been in Eclipse season. A lot of change and a lot of reveals. We are still in Cancer season, and Mercury was retrograde in the Cardinal water sign of Cancer for two of the three Eclipses. The sign of Cancer rules family, early childhood, our roots, and our foundation.

With Mercury retrograde in Cancer and with a Total Solar Eclipse in Cancer on the Solstice weekend, people have told me of a lot of memories and dreams of bygone times. Perhaps, they are memories of something that never really was as we had wanted it to be. Yet, our hearts still yearn.

There is an episode in Mad Men, where the main character of the show, Don Draper, is trying to pitch an idea to Kodak for the Kodak Carousel. It is a brilliant episode. He talks about nostalgia. He mentions that in his former job he worked with a Greek copywriter, who taught him a lot about advertising. He then weaves in the idea of nostalgia to sell the Carousel.

I think it is fitting to quote this episode, as it is so relevant in times we are living. Don Draper says, ” Nostalgia — it’s delicate, but it’s potent.

Teddy told me that in Greek, nostalgia literally means the pain of an old wound. It’s a twinge in your heart far more powerful than memory alone…It takes us to a place where we ache to go again.”
This year has taught us all that we cannot go back home again. We can rebuild, restructure, and we can create new dreams.

We can create new nostalgia, but the inner child in each of us has need a brief moment of comfort that this Capricorn lineup will not provide. Work with what you you have, and know what you achieve with what is ahead of you. That is Capricorn. Comfort is not the goal. Getting structured and productive in a new world is the objective. Coming from a place of integrity in mass karma is certainly a major goal.

Make sure to set new intentions with this second new moon in Cancer. Eclipse season is officially over, and Mercury is direct. Mars is in its home sign of the Cardinal fire sign of Aries. There is a lot of Cardinal energy to help us move forward in achieving our goals. We can’t afford to to waste time on being wistful.

We can reminisce for a moment, but we need to be strong and keep moving forward. Set big intentions and dream big dreams because this Cardinal lineup in the sky can help you to take initiative to get a lot accomplished! Saturn is also a manifesting planet, but few think of it that way. Saturn is how we structure out goals, hard work, and our dreams.

This Eclipse will bring reality wake up calls, and it will bring some endings for some. For others, it will be bring what they have already been working on to an entirely new level of achievement.

This new moon in Cancer is especially intuitive since both the Sun and Moon are conjunct in the emotive water sign of Cancer. Take this opportunity to write down your dreams and feel the emotions to believe you can achieve them. Take a blank check and date it for July 20,2020.

Print out your name where it says, “Pay to the order of,” and then leave the small numeric box blank. Print on the next line, “PAID IN FULL.” At the bottom where you normally sign your name, print “THE LAW OF ABUNDANCE. ” I wish you much luck and happiness.
