Solar Eclipse of the Heart and Spirit!

The Eclipses are here! It is unbelievable to ponder that May is just around the corner, and today is the day of the Total Solar Eclipse in Aries/Taurus! Fasten up your seat belts and let’s dive in to this Total Solar Eclipse.
Eclipse season is a time where you feel more pressured and a sense of urgency. It can be a time where your anxiety is raised, and things feel very hectic and harried. Eclipses are meant to wake us up and stir us to action. They bring fated events, meetings, and departures. They bring things to light and make us see things in a way in which we never have before.
Each month, there is a new Moon and a full Moon. An Eclipse is like a new Moon or a full Moon on steroids! They bring life changing events, big reveals, and change! To have an Eclipse, the Nodes of the moon have to be within 18 degrees of the sun. To have a Total Solar Eclipse, the Nodes of the moon have to be within 8 degrees of the Sun. The closer the Nodes of fate are, the more destined and intense the Eclipse becomes! No matter what, Eclipses always are a date with destiny in some form or another.
Today’s Total Solar Eclipse occurs on April 19, 2023 at 9:12 pm PST and on April 20th, 2023 at 12:12 am EST at 29 degrees and 50 minutes of the Cardinal Fire sign of Aries. The Sun loves being in Aries, as it is is in its exaltation. Aries if the first sign of the zodiac. It is the sign of self or single spirit, which is why many Aries struggle with being selfish at times.
This Solar Eclipse occurs at the final degree of Aries and is just 10 minutes away from being a Solar Eclipse in Taurus; therefore, I view it as a combination of energies. This Solar Eclipse in sets off Pluto, the planet of power, domination, big money, other people’s money, debt, taxes, and intimacy. Pluto is the planet of death and rebirth.
Although, Solar Eclipses tend to be more about new beginnings, Eclipses are like wild cards and are very unpredictable. I have seen major endings occur on Solar Eclipses, and I have witnessed major beginnings occur on Lunar Eclipses. You know there is a heightened sense of activity, and you know change is in the air!
This is a time to be courageous. Jupiter, the Grand Benefic and planet of expansion, abundance, higher wisdom, and opportunity, is currently transiting in the sign of Aries and will do so until May 16, 2023 when it enters the fixed earth sign of Taurus, where it will transit through May 25, 2024! Taurus will get a break after these Eclipses and Uranus bringing chaos and mayhem while in their sign!
In the interim, chaos is in the air; but, so is change and opportunity. Mars is the ruler of the sign of Aries, and it is currently out-of-bounds, which means it is out of its mind! It exceeds the sun’s path by declination and does not play by the rules. It will be out-of-bounds until the second Eclipse on May 5, 2023 in Scorpio. Mars rules Scorpio in ancient Astrology, so the Univere just wants to bring the element “extra” to every aspect of this Eclipse season! As for today’s Solar Eclipse, this is a time where Jupiter in Aries wants you to be courageous and fight for what you want! Aries is a cardinal sign, which means it is action oriented and makes things happen! The fact that it challenges Pluto, the cosmic compost, emphasizes change and releasing that which no longer serves you. Unequivocally, there will be a lot of endings this Eclipse season. Although the Solar Eclipse in Aries promises many fated opportunities, which you should not ignore, Pluto is bringing endings. Mercury is currently at the world point at 15 degrees of Taurus, which impacts us all. Any time a planet transits at 15 degrees of the fixed signs, it is at the world axis and brings big events, hits people on the world stage, and each and every one of us. The fixed signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.
Mercury retrogrades on the following day on April 21, 2023 at 15 degrees and 38 minutes of Taurus and brings more information and revelations with this Eclipse series. 15 degrees of the fixed signs is a degree to which you want to pay attention. The upcoming Lunar Eclipse is at 14 degrees and 58 minutes of Scorpio, which is just two minutes from the world point and directly opposes Mercury.
Not to mention that Jupiter retrogrades on September 4, 2023 at 15 degrees and 34 minutes of Taurus, which is exactly where Mercury is stationing. What you are working with now you can expand and bright to light in the fall and magnetize to another level.
I cast the chart to Washington DC, and the chart has Sagittarius ascendant. Sagittarius is a sign of optimism and vast knowledge. Jupiter, which rules the sign of Sagittarius is just a degree off from the world point at 23 degrees of Aries and forms a lovely trine to the Ascendant imploring you to have courage in a frightening time.
The fourth house of home and security is loaded with points in Aries, and it is where the New Moon Eclipse occurs. Security is so ambivalent for so many, but this is a time to expand your hopes and take action to ensure you have security. Fight for your dreams and to take risks for what you want to accomplish! Time to action and not be passive.
Mercury is at the world point and retrogrades the following day; yet, it is also conjunct Uranus, which is the higher octave of Mercury. This is an aspect of brilliance. It is phenomenal for coming up with ideas out-of-the blue, brainstorming, and networking. Remember that Eclipses are a date with destiny. The Nodes of Fate are at 4 degrees of Taurus and Scorpio and less than five degrees from the Sun. This is fated opportunity to take charge. Do not let Saturn in Pisces restrict you through fear.
The other interesting element is that Pluto stations retrograde on May 1, 2023 at 0 degrees and 22 minutes of Aquarius. We feel the buildup five days before and five days afterwards. The further underscores the element of change and the intensity of this time. People will be aggressive with the Aries energy, and Pluto is intense to say the least! Take your own power and come from a place of love.
This Eclipse is also at 0 degrees of Taurus and is conjunct Vesta, the asteroid of hearth and home. Finding security in your skills and talents. Finding value in family — whatever that means to you. This Eclipse defaults back to the Solar Eclipse at 2 degrees of Scorpio, which occurred on October 25, 2023. Now is time to wrap us the story and take it to another level of beginnings and charge ahead!
Pluto squares the Nodes of fate and brings the fate factor up yet another few notches. Elimination of things, places, and people that detour you from your path.
