Venus and Mercury: Reviewing how you can expand the world
It has been very difficult to write my article this week. Like the rest of you, I sit in disbelief watching the footage of the fires in California. I was just there last week and cannot believe the devastation.
I have talked a lot about Uranus changing signs this year, and what that entails for all of us. Uranus has been a key player this year — clashing with the Nodes of Fate and in combat with Mars and joining with the Lunar Eclipse at end of July.
Uranus represents many things. It is the planet that rules technology, innovation, chaos, disruption, enlightenment, surprise, and the unexpected. It also rules earthquakes and other natural disasters; as well as unexpected violence. Uranus is the maverick planet that wakes us up when we need to be aware, but sometimes it can happen in very catastrophic ways.
When Uranus first entered the fixed earth sign of Taurus on the New moon on May 15, 2018, the Volcano was erupting in Hawaii. Uranus re-entered the Cardinal fire sign of Aries on November 7, 2018 at the last degrees of Aries, where it is uncontrollable and rapid. Whenever a planet is at the final degree of a sign, it is at a critical degree. It can emphasize the energy of that planet and the sign it is occupying.
When Uranus was at the final degree of Pisces in March of 2011, the tsunami occurred in Japan on March 11, 2011. This happened when Uranus was at 29 degrees of the mutable water sign of Pisces.
There have been so many shifts and changes because last week, The Nodal axis shifted from Leo/Aquarius to Cancer/Capricorn, and this occurred on November 6, 2018. The North Node of Destiny is now at the final degree of Cancer, and it will be in Cancer until May 6, 2020. The sign of Cancer is about nurturing and nourishment. It is the sign that rules family, home, and the mother. Currently, many people are in chaos and without their homes.
The last several years, Uranus has been transiting in Aries, and the focus has become more and more on self. Everyone suddenly wanted to be in the spotlight in this era of selfies. Everyone became a reality star and overshared every moment of their lives because they are just that entertaining.
Uranus re-entered Aries and is currently squaring the Nodes of fate at the critical last degree of these signs, and this brings a lot of fated chaos for all of us. We have lost connection, and no man is an island.Uranus rules community. Hopefully, we come together in such a difficult and unconnected time. Uranus represents connection, albeit in a more distant manner.
Last week, I wrote about the joy of Jupiter changing signs and entering its home sign of Sagittarius. This is a beautiful transit and much needed for all of us. Jupiter is the great benefic, which rules generosity, kindness, higher learning, experience, expansion, wisdom, and abundance.
When times are good, Jupiter gives us great laughter and joy. When things are really tough, Jupiter gets us through and gives us some kind of faith. Pick your poison or your antidote because we need something to get us through the day.
Venus stations direct on November 16, 2018 at 25 degrees of Libra. Venus is what you value, what you love, how you partner, and how you earn money. Venus and the Sun met up on October 26, 2018 at 3 degrees of Scorpio and started a new eight year cycle around what you value and want in your life. Keep the vision on that story even if things are murky right now, which they most likely are.
Venus stations direct on November 16, 2018 at 5:51 AM EST. Although it does not clear its shadow until December 18, 2018, this will help relationships and financial matters work in a more fluid manner. Venus is retrograde once every 18 months.
Venus retrograde began in Scorpio on October 5, 2018. Venus retrograde in Scorpio is not for the faint of heart. Venus retrograde in Scorpio is an emotional odyssey. It can bring up memories, people, and experiences from the very distant past in order that you reconcile unhealed wounds. It also brings to light what no longer works in certain relationships.
On the day that Venus stations direct, Mercury stations retrograde. Mercury represents communication, travel, transportation, perspective, and outlook. When Venus stationed retrograde in Scorpio, Jupiter was finishing its transit in the deep murky Scorpio waters.
This time, Mercury stations retrograde at 13 degrees of the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius, and Jupiter has just entered its home sign of Sagittarius. Mercury is also square Neptune in Pisces. Oh,boy! Talk about imagination, confusion, illusion, fantasy, manifestation, deception, and wanting to escape. Talk about the need to have a dream and something to give us hope. Mercury is retrograde through December 6, 2018.
No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as any manner of thy friends or of thine
own were; any man’s death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom
the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.”
“No Man is an Island” — John Donne, 1624
