Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn: Setting power free.

Hi, Everyone,

We are in medias res.  This month is a turning point, and yet so many lessons, clues, and decisions are still unfolding.   We began the year of 2019 with two big Cardinal Eclipses in Capricorn and Cancer, which initiated action and change.  No planets were retrograde at that time, so it was direct movement forward.  The transitions were more expedient.

We are in the midst of another Eclipse season of heavy life transformation, endings, restructuring, moving, and heavy Saturn lessons. We are building up to a very powerful and transformative Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn, which occurs with five planets retrograde and in review.
This Lunar Eclipse occurs on July 16, 2019 at 24 degrees and 4 minutes of Capricorn.  If you have planets or angles between 21 and 27 degrees of the Cardinal signs, you will feel it the most.  The Cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.  Regardless of whether or not it hits your chart directly, you will feel the currents of change around you in some way.  Changes with people in power, government, and big corporations, as these are ruled by Capricorn.  Structures collapse in order to be transformed.  Bear in mind that next year, three outer planets will reach 24 degrees of Capricorn: Jupiter, the planet of excess; Saturn, the planet of accountability, and Pluto, the planet of spiritual evolution.

This Full Moon in Capricorn is conjunct its ruler Saturn at a wide orb of eight degrees.  Although this is quite a wide orb, I feel it is significant as it does rule the Cardinal earth sign of Capricorn.  You are your source, and you need to structure that wisely.  Saturn cycles can have effects that last many years, and it is about choosing to act with integrity to yourself and to others. With Pluto, the planet of endings, and Saturn insisting on restructuring, there will inevitably be a lot of exits and transformation on a very powerful soul level.  This Capricorn lineup has not happened in over 502 years.

The Nodes of karma are close to this Lunar Eclipse and bring in fated events and circumstances that are very illuminating, unpredictable, and revealing. This is a South Node eclipse, so there are attachments you need to transform or release.  Pluto can enable you to uplevel, empower, and transcend your current life if you use it with subtle power and not manipulation.

Eclipses bring enlightenment, but they are very unpredictable and exciting.  The helpful way to deal with this Eclipse season is to find how you can ground yourself and work hard at something that stabilizes you.

This Lunar Eclipse is also only within three degrees of Pluto, the planet of death, rebirth, power, and transformation.  This is a cycle of great transformation if you use in it in a mindful way.  The moon in Capricorn is already in its detriment, so it is not a nurturing placement of the moon.  However, it is a very ambitious, hard working, and practical placement of the moon.  Most people born with the Moon in Capricorn are very strategic and ambitious.

What do you need to upgrade and transform in your life?
Where are you not being accountable and feel you need to focus and build?  Allow this moon to eliminate toxic people and behavior patterns with the South Node getting triggered.

There are stories you were told or that you told yourself that need to be reframed, so that you can anchor the goals you were so focused on in January.  This is a time to revisit how you can achieve those goals.  Mercury is retrograde, which is a great time to reflect.  Jupiter, the planet of expansion, is retrograde at 15 degrees of Sagittarius; Saturn, the planet of life achievement and status is retrograde 16 degrees of Capricorn. Neptune, the planet of spirituality, is retrograde at 18 degrees of Pisces.

Like January’s Eclipses, there is most definitely a cosmic wake up call to personal accountability and commitment to growth. You have the chance to build something new, but you have to do the hard work and face the painful lessons with the Capricorn stellium so present and persistent.

When Mercury stations direct on August 2, 2019, it will be at 23 degrees of the Cardinal sign of Cancer and will set off Pluto, the planet of metamorphosis. Review your memories of when you felt disempowered and release that narrative and begin a new one. Facing your karmic truths during a Saturn/South Node/Pluto in Capricorn transit is one we will not soon forget.

During this Lunar Eclipse, write down and focus on what you want to let go. What blocks you from accessing your power? Time to believe and grow. Time to release and soar.
