Full Moon in Gemini: Nothing is real!
Hi, Everyone,
It is the final full moon of the year, and I am now looking up the January horoscopes! It is unbelievable that we are a year into the New Age of Aquarius. A year ago in December, Saturn and Jupiter met up at the first degree of the fixed Air sign of Aquarius to usher in a new story of rapid change, ingenuity, technology, and chaos.
Saturn is the planet of structure, responsibility, and karma. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, vision, and wisdom. The two converge every twenty years to form what is known as a great conjunction. On the Winter Solstice in 2020, Saturn and Jupiter paired up and were the closest in the sky that they had been for over 800 years. The two planets met at the first degree of the fixed Air sign of Aquarius to structure a new vision to heal a broken world.
We just experienced two major Eclipses that brought major turning points for all of us. The partial Lunar Eclipse at 27 degrees of Taurus was the longest in 1000 years. Although it was partial, it was almost a total Lunar Eclipse. A lot of loss and moves happened around that time. The Total Solar Eclipse occurred on December 4, 2021 at 12 degrees and 22 minutes of the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius and is the final eclipse in the Sagittarius/Gemini axis.
The Nodes of fate will exit Gemini/Sagittarius axis on January 18, 2022 and enter the Taurus/Scorpio axis, where the Eclipses will occur and wake us up and shake us up around value, possessions, money, currency, death, loss, wounds, debt, taxes, intimacy, and healing.
The Nodes will transit in the Taurus/Scorpio axis until July 17, 2023. The first eclipse in Taurus during the Scorpio season unfortunately involved a lot off loss and death. We are processing the loss and pain as we heal ourselves and empower ourselves to go forward and build community to live again and have hope again.
I was doing a power walk at the end of November and was struggling with how I could continue doing the work I do and keeping it cogent. How can I give a perspective of reality and hope during a catastrophic time? Uranus is the modern ruler of Aquarius, and it is extremely unpredictable. It is brilliant, but it is not stable.
Saturn and Uranus have been in conflict this year, and they meet up for a third for a third and final throwdown on December 24th, 2021 where it feels like it is hard to bring form to the constant chaos. Think of Einstein on acid at a dinner party. He is the most captivating guest, but you will not let him drive your aunt Doris home at the end of the night.
I almost wanted to give up on Astrology. I was thinking about the upcoming ingress of Jupiter in Pisces. Magic. Dreams. Love. All of those notions were floating in my head but to marry those concepts in any way escaped me completely and left me wandering and wondering. I walked along the road, and a car drove by me with “Strawberry Fields” roaring through the windows. I realized that that is what Jupiter in Pisces is all about — nothing is real. It’s a journey of discovery and suspension of disbelief. It is submerging yourself in your dreams without fear. A rising tide of tears and imagination lifts all boats.
There is a lot to consider this month. Mars, the planet of action, entered the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius on December 13, 2021, where it will transit until January 24, 2022. Mars is adventurous, fun, fiery, and energized while in Sagittarius. This brings and optimism to action. Mercury, the planet of information, the mind, and thoughts, also changed signs on December 13th and entered the Cardinal earth sign of Capricorn where it will transit on and off through February 14th, 2022.
Mercury will retrograde in both the signs of Aquarius and Capricorn in the middle/end of January of 2022 and is a collective reflection on the legendary Saturn/Pluto conjunction that changed the world in January of 2020 and the Epoch of Capricorn, which brought permanent change and new world. Pluto was at the world axis, and it brought huge loss and endings on the global level. None of us is unscathed, but we rebirth as we need to continue for future generations and to commune together to innovate outdated systems.
Mercury will also reflect on part of its journey in Aquarius, and how we can build more stability in the chaos as we are become flexible with fixed, rapid change. This week is big because there is a Full Moon in Gemini on December 18th, 2021 that occurs just a day before Venus stations retrograde at 26 degrees and 29 minutes of Capricorn; Chiron, the wounded healer, stations direct on 12/19 at 8 degrees and 26 minutes of Aries.
It is important to focus on the meaning of Venus retrograde. Venus met up with Pluto, the planet of death and transformation, at 25 degrees of the Cardinal Earth sign of Capricorn on December 11, 2021, and this is a very heavy aspect. This can bring major loss, endings, breakups, and power struggles. This energy reminds me of the Judgement card in Tarot, where you need to face without fear any truths about your relationships, values, or money that are scary to face. It is a time of reckoning; but, it is also a time of transforming and healing.
Venus retrogrades on December 19th, 2021 at 5:36 am EST at 26 degrees and 29 minutes of Capricorn. Saturn, Lord Karma, rules the sign of Capricorn and insists that you take a naked look at what you need to do to bring more value and traction to your goals — whatever they may be. Venus retrogrades once every 18 months, and it is a personal planet that focuses on how you partner and negotiate with others, what you find of value, how your earn money, and how you can create your resources.
Venus retrogrades at the degree at which Pluto, the ruler of the underworld, stationed retrograde on April 27, 2021, and this invites us all to purge what does not help us, what keeps us from our value and dreams, and to process loss that we have all endured in some way or another. Pluto and Venus meet up three times in total: December 11, 2021 at 25 degrees and 18 minutes of Capricorn; December 25, 2021 at 25 degrees and 42 minutes of Capricorn; and on March 3, 2022 at 27 degrees and 48 minutes of Capricorn.
Eclipses emphasize major transits we are experiencing personally; as well as the transits in the sky. This Eclipse season brings to light the importance of working with the Venus retrograde story, which involves Pluto in every regard. Venus stations at the degree at which Pluto retrograded, and it meets up with Pluto three times in total. Venus entered the Cardinal Earth sign of Capricorn on November 5, 2021 and will remain in this sign until March 6, 2022.
This retraces where Pluto was in the Spring of this year; but, it also focuses on where Saturn transited in Capricorn from March 4, 2020 until November 4, 2020 when it went back and forth from 26 degrees of Capricorn. When Venus does station direct on January 29, 2022, it stations at 11 degrees and 5 minutes of Capricorn, which is where Saturn was transiting the final days of December of 2018 and the first few days of January of 2019. Saturn requires hard work to achieve your goals.
Now is a cosmic opportunity to reassess how you can be effective in this new era to earn a living, relate to others that cherish you and share your values, set boundaries with your habits and in your relationships that are kind and healthy, and work within chaos to achieve infinite intellectually possibility and enlightenment. No one said it would be easy, and no is going to say it now!
The Full moon officially ends this highly intense Eclipse season, and it occurs at 27 degrees and 29 minutes of Gemini on December 18, 2021 at 11:36 pm EST. This Full moon sets off where the North Node of Destiny was transiting last summer when it was transiting in July of 2020 and the first five days of August of 2020.
Mercury rules the mutable air sign of Gemini, and it is currently out-of-bounds, which means it exceeds the outer bounds of the sun and is greater than 23 degrees and 27 minutes North or South by declination. It means the planet is more out of control and exaggerated. On the day of the Full Moon, Mercury squares Chiron, the wounded healer. The moon in Gemini needs to articulate its emotions — even though it’s not particularly and emotional placement of the moon. The moon is how you get your needs met, and Moon in Gemini needs to talk.
The Moon is also out-of-bounds by declination, which adds an extra emotional intensity after a really emotional and heavy Eclipse season. Expect a lot of big news and information to come out on the weekend of the Full moon in Gemini. Mercury is out-of-bound and telling a lot of tales. This is only a few weeks before Jupiter, the luckiest planet, enters the mutable water sign of Pisces, where we magnetize our dreams.
This Full Moon is very relationship oriented in that Venus retrogrades on the following day and is doing an ongoing dance with Pluto, the planet of release. What do you need to accept and let go in order to be happy? How can you be creative in a time where you feel so upended and disrupted? Nodes of fate exit the Gemini/Sagittarius axis. Perhaps some closure or information with stories, situations, and relationships you have been working on since last summer.
I cast the chart for the Full Moon for Washington DC, and it has Virgo ascendant with Mercury as ruler of the chart and the moon in Gemini. Venus and Pluto are conjunct in the house of creativity and love. Purge toxicity in order to open your heart chakra to creative magic that you feel you cannot do, but is always within you. You just forgot about it because of the lack of sleep. It is so hard to keep focused on the dream in a time in which there is so much loss. Honor the loss. Venus and Pluto will keep reminding you, and it is inevitable that you retrace your steps. Venus wants you to be happy and productive; but, it also wants you to get real.
The Full Moon forms a wide square to Neptune, which is the modern ruler of Pisces. More deception can get uncovered. More things are dissolved as we prepare for the beginning of Jupiter in Pisces, which will occur on December 28, 2021. It is time to work with the imagination. It is time to immerse yourself in spiritual practice, meditation, manifesting, music, the arts, creativity, and love. Mercury squares Chiron, the wounded healer and pronounces the wounds. It is also encourages you to say them out loud, write them down, or talk to a friend. The more you deal with the pain, the more you can heal.
Venus retrogrades in Capricorn, which is a sign of reality and limits, Jupiter in Pisces will remind you of Strawberry fields forever! You have to go out to find them, and they may be in other areas than you would have thought; but, nothing is real. Or is it? It is up to you to decide. It is up to you to pay attention to the messages as you reassess your life goals and prepare yourself for a magical tea party where you are the host with fascinating guests that inspire you.
