Mercury retrograde: In search for infinite awareness.

Hi, Everyone,

I am writing this article on deliciously strong coffee that a friend very kindly sent me from Hawaii. This coffee high is perfect because I want to capture all of the excitement and access possible with the magical new moon in Aquarius this week. The Coffee does not have portable Hawaiian weather, so I will have to innovate the sunshine and dreams with every sip I take.

It has been such an Aquarian whirlwind since the Winter Solstice when Saturn and Jupiter met up at 0 degrees and 29 minutes of Aquarius to structure a new twenty year vision for all. Aquarius represents the individual, and it also represents the collective. What is the vision you want to structure?

At the end of December, two outer planets ingressed into the fixed air sign of Aquarius. Saturn, the planet of responsibility, structure, and maturation, entered the fixed air sign of Aquarius where it will tour through March 7, 2023. Jupiter, the planet of prosperity, abundance, vision, and higher wisdom, entered Aquarius where it will transit on and off through December 29, 2021. Jupiter will also briefly tour through the mutable water sign of Pisces from May 13th until July 29, 2021; but, this is just one cup of coffee, so let’s focus on this New Moon and new era of Aquarius at hand.

Aquarius is one of the few signs of the zodiac that has two rulers. Saturn rules Aquarius in ancient astrology and is connected with the old: Old traditions and structures, authority figures, limitations, restrictions, responsibilities, and commitments. Uranus is the modern ruler, and it is connected with the future, surprise, the unorthodox, disruption, rebellion, anarchy, enlightenment, awakening, friends, community, and CHANGE!

Mercury, the planet of awareness, learning, and communication, entered Aquarius on January 8, 2021, where it will transit through March 15, 2021. Mercury retrograded on January 30, 2021 at 26 degrees and 29 minutes of Aquarius and gave each of us a preview of Saturn in Aquarius will be like the next couple of years — barring the final month of its transit in Aquarius.

Aquarius is the sign of friends, acquaintances, groups, and communities. This is a time to reach out to people from your past and network. Reach out to new people, too, because there is infinite connecting opportunities with so many planets transiting in the sign of connection! Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, and it deals with well with networking with others. If you are promoting yourself, this is a phenomenal time to reach out to all sorts of contacts.

If you are single, this is an excellent time to reach out to people and form new communities and friendships. If you have your own business or are looking for a job, Mercury in Aquarius is an opportune time for marketing yourself with social media and through the internet.

When Mercury retrogrades, secrets get revealed. Mercury is in the sign of friends and groups, so you will likely hear from old acquaintances or friends from the past. Aquarius also rules technology. I will say it again — be extra careful with all of your gadgets and back things up as much as you can. Pay attention to the stories that get revealed in next few weeks before Mercury stations direct on February 20, 2021 at 11 degrees and 1 minute of Aquarius. Pay attention to the brilliant ideas that come up for you as well!

This week, there is a magical new moon that helps to honor in an official way the Real Age of Aquarius. The New Moon occurs on February 11, 2021 at 2:06 pm EST at 23 degrees and 17 minutes of Aquarius. Aquarius is an intellectual air sign that symbolizes infinite possibility, but this new moon has so much more possibility within it! To begin with, the two benfics of the Zodiac — Venus and Jupiter — meet up earlier that day at 10:00 am EST at 12 degrees of Aquarius.

This is a very romantic, creative, abundant, prosperous, and lucrative pairing! Take advantage of all of those adjectives! The New Moon is always an ideal time to set new intentions and plant new seeds, but with the two luckiest planets starting off the day, this brings a lot of manifesting opportunity for all of us! Aquarius is the sign of dreams, hopes, and wishes. This is a time to commune and invent new dreams and hopes. More importantly, it is a time not to lose hope.

I cast the chart for the New moon on January 11, 2021 at 2:06 pm EST in Washington DC. The chart has Cancer rising, which means that the New Moon rules the chart and falls in the ninth house of manifesting, learning, and optimism. Saturn and Uranus are within a degree of squaring one another, and this is where we will all experience the tensions of creating a new vision and change in the Age of Aquarius.

They are both the rulers of Aquarius; yet, Saturn is so rigid and Uranus is so uncontainable and in search of freedom. These are the aching pains that we each experience with change. Change is constant, but in this case, it is very rapid. Saturn and Uranus challenge one another two more times this year, and it is testing us to grow in this new reality, as the old one is gone.

No one us under the assumption that this will be easy, but try for a few days mid month to suspend disbelief and channel a time of utter creativity, love, peace, and connection. The New Moon has the beautiful Venus/Jupiter conjunction, which means we can manifest that which we love. Mercury, the planet of perspective and thoughts, is conjunct both the New Moon itself; as well as Jupiter and Venus, so this brings an excellent opportunity for manifesting your words, saying that aloud, and focusing on positive thinking. This new moon has so much available so keep focusing on that dream!

All of the planets in Aquarius — aside from the new moon itself — occur in the eighth house of healing and transformation. It is through community, brainstorming, and learning that we will begin to heal together. Neptune, which is the higher octave of Venus is conjunct the midheaven, and it enhances the mystical, creative, and empathetic possibilities of what we all can achieve together.
The North Node of Destiny forms a beautiful trine to Mercury, the planet of communication, and this brings even more opportunities to market, connect, and form community. Alienation is neither good for the mind nor the spirit.

Mercury and Venus meet up exactly on February 12th, 2021 at 11:48 pm PST and on February 13, 2021 at 2:48 am EST at 14 degrees of Aquarius, and this is beautiful energy for communication with loved ones, romance, and healing wounds around communication. It is very musical and artistic energy. It is a a beautiful day for love and nostalgia. Moon is in Pisces, and Mars forms a helpful aspect to Neptune, so this is a very good day for doing artistic ventures of all types.

On February 14, 2021, there is another beautiful day for enjoying love and magic, as Mercury meets up with Jupiter, and this brings a lot of communication and a really nice vibe to Valentine’s Day. Those three days give us a little glimpse of all of the possibilities this Aquarian era has in store, so wish, dream, connect, and create!

The New Moon on February 11, 2021 is an amazing day to do The Law of Abundance. Take a blank check and date it for that date. Where it says, “Pay to the order of,” print your full name. Leave the small numeric box blank. Where you normally print out the full dollar amount, write, “Paid in Full.” Where you normally sign your name at the bottom of the check, write, “The Law of Abundance.” I wish you much health, luck, and happiness! 🙂
