The New Moon of illusions.
Have you ever sat down to do a task with eight windows vying for attention on your laptop, buzzing texts, and losing things all at once? Do you have a few untangled necklaces in your heart and in your drawer? That is the energy of this New moon in Gemini!
We are now in a very different framework from the beginning of the year when there were several planets in the Cardinal earth sign of Capricorn. Subsequently, Venus, The Sun, and Mars entered the Cardinal fire sign of Aries and kicked up the cardinal factor in the cosmos a few notches. Cardinal signs kick us all up and get us going.
They give us drive and initiative. The Cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. Currently, we are in very mutable energy, and we are swimming in many different directions.
At present, there are four points in the mutable air sign of Gemini: The sun, which is ego and identity; Mercury, the planet of the intellect; Venus, the planet of value; The North of Karma, where we are meant to gravitate and master our karmic lessons.
Gemini is a mutable air sign that is ruled by the planet Mercury. Mercury rules intellectual activity, commerce, communication, transportation, and perception. Currently, Venus is the leader singer in this Gemini concert with it’s being out-of-bounds and retrograde! She also retrograded with a challenging influence to Neptune, planet of dreams and illusions.
She’s out of her mind, and so are we! When a planet is out-of-bounds, it cannot be contained. . Venus has been out-of-bounds since April 2nd and will be until July 1, 2020. Venus is also retrograde, which only occurs once every eighteen months; not to mention that it retrogrades once every eight years in the sign of Gemini. A lot of review around contacts, information, childhood, cousins, siblings, your neighborhood (current and past,) and friends from different chapters of your life will surface.
Last week, three planets stationed retrograde in the sky: Saturn, the planet of responsibility and leadership; Venus, the planet of love and money; Jupiter, the planet of abundance and expansion. Pluto, planet of metamorphosis and transformation, also stationed retrograde at end of April. With three planets shifting retrograde last week so closely, there was a big shift in introspection and review for us all.
Venus in contact with Neptune brings a very magical, dreamy, and sentimental energy with it. Venus is love and beauty; but, Neptune is the higher octave of Venus. Neptune strives for selfless love. Jean Paul Sartre wrote about love in Being and Nothingness.
To simplify his theory, he felt that people love for the sake of being loved and nothing more — merely for a sense of feeling full and complete. Neptune in its higher form is nothing like this: it is pure love for the sake of love. Neptune in its lower form is the con man ready to steal your heart and your purse.
With Venus in review, uncontrollable, and closely linked with Neptune, it is critical to realize that Neptune is neither linear nor objective. It is romantic, wistful, and reminiscent; but, it is not logical. This has been such a historical year with permanent changes from the Year of Capricorn.
We are in review period and in mass mourning. We are also rebuilding, restructuring, and reinventing ourselves. The cardinal lesson of Capricorn is to be accountable and take responsibility. There is no choice.
Use all of this Mercury driven energy to write, communicate, network, learn, study, and revise. Mercury is in a brilliant placement while in Gemini, and Venus and Neptune together are so incredibly creative, visual, and musical.
On May 20, 2020, Venus in Gemini formed an exact square to Neptune, and its energy was pronounced. Neptune rules the ocean and water; it can bring mass flooding. Yesterday the state of Michigan had two dams burst. Sadly, thousands of people had to evacuate among this chaos.
Venus and Neptune will be in contact through the beginning of June when they start to separate from one another. However, in the Venus retrograde chart, their spell is cast. This can be very magical energy when applied towards manifesting, meditating, dreaming, creating, singing, and dancing. Neptune in Pisces is also mutable and bringing us more choices and directions. In how many directions can our minds swim right now in this elusive sea of pain, love,imagination, and fear?
Tap in to the love available with Venus and Neptune. Be conscious of the fact that fears that surface may very well be subjective. Saturn is not done with Capricorn this year and will re-enter in July. Saturn holds you accountable for how you conduct yourself. Be the person you want to be. Think with consciousness and awareness. Think with your heart as well as your mind.
A lot of people will resurface during this time with Venus retrograde in a very social and communicative sign. This is a time for old lovers to reunite, and ghosts from our past will resurface in many ways: memories, photographs, and text messages, and in other types of messages. Review who you want to be. Raise the bar and raise your value in this time where character and integrity is everything.
The New Moon in Gemini occurs on May 22, 2020 at 1:39 pm EDT at two degrees and four minutes of Gemini. Look to see where that falls in your chart. This is a time of new beginnings and planting new seeds. The New moon is always an excellent time to set new intentions and to write down what you wish to manifest. I cast the chart for the East Coast, and the New Moon chart has Virgo rising with Mercury as the ruler of the chart. Mercury also rules the New moon in Gemini, which falls in the 9th house of hope and higher learning. Venus and Mercury meet up exactly at 4:41 am EDT at twenty degrees of Gemini in the house of Career. Later in the day, Mercury makes an exact square to Neptune, planet of dreams, at 11:43 am EDT.
This is a highly imaginative influence, but lies and deception will inevitably be uncovered with this New moon. The emotions will flood as well, and that is healthy. The Sun in Gemini also makes a beautiful trine to Saturn in Aquarius, which helps to stabilize during the uncertainty and also connects us more to the brilliance of this mercurial new moon!
You can do so many different things with the energy right now; but, you may find you are steering in too many directions at once. Slow down because a busy summer replete with three eclipses is right around the corner! You’ll need your rest. Remember not everything is real right now, but you can manifest some magic with the intellectual chaos all aboard!
